Miles Newlyn, Riccardo Olocco and Leo Philp collaborated to make New Kansas Heavy. Planned from the start, they finished the rest of the family first in order to know how far they could go. Pretty far as it turns out. If the counters were any smaller the ebullient letters would be silhouettes; and any more heft would have resulted in a wider face. Tightly spaced, and with serifs that have all but been absorbed into the stems, this cheerful, modern classic is a worthy successor to the Fat Faces of the late 1700’s. When you absolutely, positively have to get the word out.
